MARLOW TRIP 17th JULY 2004:
It was decided to have a day out, and visit Marlow, ex member present
were, Paul Layton, Mick Payne, Mick Brooks, also there on the day were Wendy
& Emma Brooks.
On arriving at the old camp site it was noticed the the paths had not been
used for quite some time, but a lot of clearing had been done on the surrounding
woods, the girls hut and the kitchen had been removed, and the main hut split
into two parts, with a door at each end, both doors were open, and the hut was
empty.
It seemed to us a great shame that a great place like Marlow was no longer
used.
We then had a beer in the Dog & Badger, the outside was still the
same, but the inside had changed, from small bars to one bar in the middle, and
was full of American tourists. The town of Marlow itself had not changed much
but had gone very up market, not the small town we remembered.
It was a very nice day out.
